Sheet Metal Bins For 10ft by 5ft Sheets

Following several audits undertaken with sheet metal fabricators and laser cutting companies. It came to our attention that the current methods for handling 10ft x 5ft sheets is inconvenient for many businesses as the storage options to handle skeleton sheets is either stacking them on a pallet or folding/cutting them to fit into smaller stillages.

We have recently fabricated our latest form of metal storage containers to benefit companies and allow ease of use when handing their scrap metal recycling. These containers allow for fabricators and manufactures to store complete metal sheets inside the containers easily and safely not leaving sharp corners exposed like conventional methods of storing skeletal sheet waste.

These bins are suitable for a range of different materials including Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Brass, Copper and Steel Sheets.

The sheet bin dimensions are: (L) 320cm (W) 171cm (H) 60cm

We are confident that this storage option will become a favourable option for those who produce sheet metal waste on an ongoing basis.

These "sheet bins" are available at both Gibbs Scrap Evesham and Gibbs Scrap Hoddesdon depots.

Gibbs Expanded Already Extensive Fleet

Gibbs Scrap have expanded their already extensive fleet with the delivery of two new Roll-on-Off lorries.

These will help Gibbs to keep service levels to the standard their customers have come to expect. The two lorries have been fitted to FORS gold standard and the rest of the Gibbs fleet will follow.

A Show Well Worth The Visit.

MACH is the outstanding showcase for advances in the manufacturing industry brought to you by the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), a UK based trade association dealing specifically with engineering based manufacturing. It is a biennial exhibition which brings together all the best innovations and latest developments to come from the manufacturing technologies sectors under one roof.

In 2014 over 6,500 tonnes of live working machinery were on display, attracting 23,352 quality visitors representing diverse sectors across the whole of the UK Manufacturing sector.

With over 600 companies exhibiting a staggering £177M of business was attributed to MACH 2014 and 2016 promises to be bigger and better with new zones, innovative technologies and a vibrant seminar program.

This will be our third year exhibiting at the show and we are hoping to see some familiar faces as well as many new ones visiting our stand. we will be at 5675 with the coffee on the beer fridge full and some exciting things going on. we look forward to seeing you there.

Just Landed Scania P320XT

Our latest 26 tonne Scania P320XT flatbed with dropsides arrived at our Hoddesdon site on friday!

Following delays due to the global semiconductor shortages vehicle manufactures have had huge delays in their processing lines for new vehicles from cars through to heavy goods vehicles. We are glad to announce the arrival of one of our new trucks to assist the expansion of our fleets in Hoddesdon & Evesham.

This flatbed is fitted with drop down sides and a Dhollandia tail lift, this assists in our service offerings by providing customers that haven’t got conventional loading facilities on site the same level of service other customers receive.

In addition to the features mentioned this 26 tonne Scania flatbed is fitted with an inspection step and handles on the roof to ensure the safety of our drivers whilst inspecting loads and sheeting up ready for transportation. We also have a the roof mounted warning system to increase our visibility whilst delivering and exchanging scrap metal loads.

Our New Container Loader Has Arrived.

Furthering on from our recent investments this week we saw an addition to our metal processing machinery, another container loader installed at our Hoddesdon depot.

Having this piece of machinery will allow us to increase the productivity of our material exporting by allowing us to load multiple containers at once whilst finding a permanent home for one of our new Atlas scrap metal handlers! Although this is behind the scenes from what you would normally see as part of the collection service we provide this is an integral piece of equipment that will help us cut down our handling / loading times. In addition to assisting with our continual improvement process it will allow us to provide an overall better service and help ensure our prices remain competitive.

Gibbs Deliver Quality Service with Two Weeks to Spare

In January 2021 “GIBBS” were amongst numerous merchants who were asked to tender for the recycling and secure destruction of 622 tonne of components from Ford Motor Co., the deadline for this was February 15^th and on the 17^th the tender had been won and we were given the green light to go ahead.

Collections started on the 1^st March and had to be completed by 16^th April, we are extremely pleased to say load 44 returned to our site yesterday and the contract was completed 2 weeks ahead of schedule.
